15 Aug Pre-Wedding Photography in Paris, France | Kathrin + Jean
Kathrin and Jean celebrated their stunning wedding in Austria, and since Jean is originally from France, it felt like the perfect idea to have a wedding portrait session in Paris as well. Although they currently reside in Vienna, they had spent several years living in Paris.
We planned to do the photo shoot in Paris in mid-August, on a Saturday, during a time when much of Europe was suffering from heatwaves. The night before the shoot, Paris was cold and rainy, leaving us hoping for better weather. Thankfully, the rain stopped by morning, and by afternoon, the sky cleared up beautifully.
We began our photo session at the lovely Parc Monceau, then made our way to Place du Trocadéro, where the iconic Eiffel Tower made for the perfect backdrop. When photographing a wedding in Paris, the Eiffel Tower is always a must-see location. Next, we headed to Montmartre, the historic heart of Paris, which was conveniently located near our accommodation. The 19th-century streets and buildings, full of charming cafés and restaurants, provided a romantic atmosphere for our session.
After leaving Montmartre, we drove to the Seine and took photos near the Palais de Justice and Pont Neuf (New Bridge). With the Cathedral of Notre Dame nearby, we also captured a few portraits there in the afternoon sunshine. We then relaxed at the atmospheric café-restaurant Odette Paris.
To wrap up our wedding portrait session, we headed to the Louvre and its stunning pyramid. As the last rays of the sunset faded and car headlights illuminated the streets, we caught a glimpse of the glowing Arc de Triomphe in the distance at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. Our wedding photography session in Paris was a complete success.
